いや。「見にくい」んじゃなくて、醜い。我ながらよくこんなブスなスマホに取り替える気になったと思いますが、前に持っていた iPhone X から2世代を経てカメラ性能が格段に良くなっているので、ブスでも手に取りました。結果、
慣れれば美味しい くさやのひもの
ブスはブスなりに使い勝手が良い。と割り切りました。
で... そういえば iPhone って確か前世代、Xs/Xr のあたりから eSIM（Embedded SIM＝内蔵型SIM）をサポートしていたのを思い出しました。電話会社のほうは eSIM サポートに乗り気ではないようですが、嬉しいことに T-Mobile が iPhone 11 発売前に eSIM をサポートしていました。
Bellevue, Washington – August 28, 2019 – T-Mobile today announced expanded support for embedded SIM (eSIM), which is basically just a physical SIM card gone digital. Last year, the Un-carrier launched eSIM on prepaid plans, and starting August 28, customers can light up an eSIM with a T-Mobile postpaid plan -- something Un-carrier customers have asked for – to open new ways of using an eSIM-equipped device by adding a second line on the same device.
eSIM is great for people who want to use both work and personal numbers on a single smartphone, set up a phone with an international carrier for extended stays outside the U.S. or just get rid of that physical SIM card. Plus, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon customers can get T-Mobile on their existing smartphone. How cool is that?

ヒマな時に T-Mobile のショップに行って eSIM アクチベートしなくちゃ...。
･･･って思っていて、ずーっと忘れていました。還暦過ぎた爺なのを痛感。(笑)
そしてこの記事掲載前日の日曜日に、4番街にある T-Mobile へ行ってきました。
「おすかる」という、つけまつげ10枚貼りしたような、長身でイケメンの兄さんが応対してくれました。もし奥にいた別の兄さんが「あんどれ」だったら、私は間違いなく鈴を振りつつ「つみれの花」を謳いだしたことでせう。
オスカルさんに電話番号を聞かれ運転免許証で本人確認をされた後、ほんの1～2分で「出来上がり♪」って、電話機のトレイからSIMチップを抜いて起動させました。「あ... ちょっと顔認証してください｡」と渡された iPhone をのぞき込んだら、メインスクリーンが復帰して「これでSIMチップ無しで使えますよ｡」と、電話機を返却されました。

この記事書いて読んでいま遅ればせながらに気づいたんですが、普通はSIMチップ交換すると起動時にPIN入力を要求されますよね？ でも覚えている限りでは顔認証で済みました。なんで覚えているかといえば、今まで iPhone X では認証されなかったような角度と距離でも顔認証できたから。2018年版の iPad Pro 並みに顔認証が改良されています。
で、このSIMチップ存在判定はやはりeSIMがアクチベートされたので「同じSIMが引き続き入っている」と iPhone が判断したためでしょうか。最近の技術の改良･進歩に少しづつ ついていけなくなってきた自分が残念です。(笑)

オスカルさんに御礼を言いつつ T-Mobile を後にして、歩きスマホで時々スクショ撮りつつ、そのまま遊楽さんへ行って 限定デラックスとんこつ大盛り をたいらげ、その後帰宅してからこの記事を書いているわけです。
（歩きスマホは、よゐこのみんなはやめようね。とんこつ大盛りは、ジジババのみんなはやめようね｡）
ところで直射日光下でも見易くなった最高 800 nits の高輝度OLEDスクリーンにも感動したよ。
セッティング内のセルラー設定の表示が、いきなりややこしくなりました。
電話番号がふたつ入っていて、それぞれ独立して ON/OFF できるようになりました。
ボイスはA社、データ通信はB社、と振り分けが可能です。
もし僕が日本に住んでいたら、データ通信は IIJ のデータ専用SIMにするでしょう。
（Internet Initiative Japan... 也ガ前の勤務先でモデムを大量購入してくれた得意先... 思い切り遠い目）
テリアはフィンランドとスウェーデンによる半国有企業なので、潰れにくくて少し安心です。ｗ
でも航空会社では半国有の企業が見事に潰れた例もあるから、決して油断はできません。ｗｗｗ
米国内で使っても 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution)、VoLTE (Voice over LTE) 対応なのは驚きました。一方で、オスカルさんも気づいた米国内での提携ネットワークが T-Mobile なので、受信状態はどっちの番号でも一緒なのは残念。
実際の運用ですが、両方とも ON にしておくと Heart Beat と呼ばれる「私、繋がってます」という少量のパケット交換でもデータ通信料が発生してしまいそうなので、ケチな私はプリペ回線を殺しておくことにしました。
こういう状態になるわけですね。One SIM Card を OFF にすれば、データも音声も T-Mobile に設定されます。

案の定、しっかりチャージがかかったよ...。ホント、携帯電話会社ってあこぎだよね。
でも、11.56kb データパケットが送受されて、0.49セント也。
四捨五入するだろうから、通信料はゼロドル。
･･･ギリギリでチャージされるの、セーフ！！ｗｗｗ
でも、あと1パケットでも通信していたら...(怒)

そこで、いぢわるをしてみることに。
ふたつの SIM を両方とも OFF に設定したら、どうなるんだろう？
賢い iPhone は「どっちか選ぶまで仕事しない！」と、SIMの選択を強要してきました。(爆)
これで国際線搭乗後の「SIMカード交換の儀」は省略できます。･･･日本以外では。
そう。日本で T-Mobile も One SIM Card も動きますが、かけてくる人が国際電話になっちゃう。そのため、別途 HanaCell というブランドで英国の Mobell Communications が出しているソフトバンクの SIM を使っています。
でもこれって、次の iPhone に乗り換えるときにどうするんだろう？(汗)
まぁ、今から気を揉んでも仕方ないので、また来年か再来年に悩むことにします。

Deleteまだ発表されていませんが、iPhone 11 シリーズのA13バイオニックチップに搭載されたニューラルエンジンを使って、シャッター押す前から勝手に9枚だか撮って、合成して異様なほどの高解像度を得るモードが後付けでサポートされるそうです。
ストーカーはアイドル追っかけるのに、瞳に映り込んだ風景と Google Streetview で彼女がどこに棲んでるのか特定したり。もうほとんどブレードランナーの世界が再現されていて、ステキ！！
ただ、ケータイのカメラにはそのままではまだ致命的な欠陥があります。光学的なボケです。
ご存じのように被写界深度は許容最小錯乱円で決まるので、受光素子が小さいとボケません。
でも、シャッター押す前から9枚写しておいてソフトでボカすんでしょうね... 嫌な世の中。

I hear iPhone 11 Pro has an exceptional extension of the battery life.
I also hear it has an amazing chip doubling machine-learning.
The latest iPhone is thought to allow you to move very quickly free to the extremely modernized expansive camera which has a powerful fourfold width visual zoom extent.
As a result, you can get expanded field of view, can’t you ?
I’ll think about purchasing the fascinating smartphone that Apple would’ve devoted all their energy to its development.

DeleteBecause I’m an old school boy about the photography (and Atsu-san too), this kind of digitally enhanced, or digitally gap-filled approach is completely a whole new world.
For me (and Atsu-san), the word “zoom lens” must be just one-lens with one film (or, at least, an image sensor). However, these camera functions on the modern smartphones have completely different approach. iPhone 11 Pro has three focal length at 13 / 26 / 52 mm, for easily fulfill the gap between the real focal length.
Well, I have to accept this weird approach by software and fastest digital image processor. Yet, I am not comfortable they call those three lenses as “Ultra Wide,” “Wide” and “Telephoto.” Again, as an alumnus who received summa cum laude from Tokyo Institute of Photography, I cannot accept the focal length at 52mm calling as telephoto. Telephoto lenses must be longer than 85mm, usually 105 to 200mm then super telephoto lenses are longer than 400mm. ﾊｧﾊｧ ﾊｧﾊｧ
Now back to the features of the most recent iPhones. Certainly the embedded camera functions are much better than iPhone X, and the new lens, just one lens, looks quite similar to the lens on iPad Pro (2018) which is marvelous too. Three of those good quality lenses must generate good pictures with those software support, plus neural engine in the most modern microchip A13 Bionic. By using this camera for two weeks, I found the Night Mode and Auto HDR (High Dynamic Range) works significantly well, way beyond my expectations. And managing the ghost, flare and halo from the optical imperfection were very appropriately suppressed.
Apple will even be introducing Deep Fusion, Which I mentioned in the Atsu-san’s comment, will be very interesting digital approach – taking 8 extra shots prior to you actually press the shutter button, then generate the best picture using by those extra photos. But, but, but… the sense of photography still remains on the person who received a good training and learning of photography… I strongly hope.
In regards to the battery life – I can’t see significant difference because I usually recharging those gadgets immediately when the battery life went below 60%, so I have no idea about the improvements at all.
Another advantage on this model is the support of IEEE 802.11ax, so called WiFi-6. When I bought an iPhone 11 Pro, I also bought a new WiFi router. Then the connecting speed is fabulous with MiMo capability. …sorry it’s too technically specific, but I do feel the differences.
The reason why I bought iPhone 11 Pro is; the previous phone, iPhone X, was broken by battery failure in July and replaced by Apple Store at free of charge. Therefore, the trade-in price was expected at full amount, $400, and then I actually received that amount as a refund. Otherwise, I would be skip the “11” and was waiting for the next year’s model with major change with 5G capability.
My current problem is; what I should do in next September/October when the next iPhone has introduced. To be or not to be… that is the question. (lol)
