Sydney 2018 June (4)

  1. obaKoba-sann,

As I told you before I’ve also been part of IHG’s extended family for these several years because Centurion Card offers automatic upgrades to its Platinum tier.
It’s no wonder I’m forced to give much money annually to AmEx for their services.
IHG Platinum must be a humble reward (lol).
Considering that I’ve been one of the charter members of JPN Centurion® Card, it seems reasonable that I deserve the right doubtlessly to request IHG Spire Elite.

The advantageous portions of IHG high-class tiers should be loyal room upgrading with whole quality/quantity of benefits and facilities at their affiliate properties.
When I visited ANA Crowne Plaza in the weekend of June to participate in a medical conference held in Niigata, they weren’t able to allow me to seize room upgrading due to the thorough occupancy.
Therefore the head master (?) of the front clerks seriously expressed his remorse to me directly and asked me if there’s anything to do for me (though he didn’t express to offer surprising IHG points…lol).
It couldn’t be better, could be ?
I haven’t experienced the sort of the act of returning to normal from One Harmony (Okura/nikko), Golden Circle (Shangri-la), GP, needless to say HHonors nor SPG, either.
Alternatively, IHG are unceasingly just truthful to the regular customers.

Speaking of IHG, they recently e-mailed me to join an IHG InterContinental Ambassador.
    What do you think ?
    Thank you in advance, anyway.

In my humble opinion, The Centurion Card® is waste of money, at least for my family. Instead, J.P. Morgan Reserve is reasonable because they offer the card by depositing money, not spending money. Under such circumstances, American Express should offer the entire highest tiers for the cardmembers paying thousands of dollars annually. However, IHG is contracted with J.P. Morgan Chase therefore Spire Elite won’t be given for Amex members but Chase, I guess. (ah, I reminded a key phrase “Give and Given.” By scallop-san.(lol))

IHG Platinum Elite tier is working well for me. Rooms are always upgraded and when it’s not available, which is happened last month at Hotel Indigo, they sincerely apologized and gave me thousands of bonus points. Therefore due to my experiences with SPG+Marriott, HHonors and IHG, IHG is in the best faith for the elite members. Also, IHG is the easiest frequent stayer’s program to earn the points. There are so many unexpected bonus points, I keep using for the reward nights but I still have over 300K points… very weirdly.

But, but, but… the hotel chain membership is weaker than frequency of one-hotel. Because I kept staying and will keep staying at Hotel Indigo Katong, most of the receptionists remember me and takes care of me as much as they can.

Oh, The Ambassador program? I churned it since they set a certain restrictions for room upgrade policies and the availability of free nights. I don’t recommend it unless otherwise you intensively stay at InterContinental hotel such as tired building in Roppongi or standing watermelon in Yokohama.
