İstanbul 2018 Feb (9)

Salad
Mixed greens, fennel, orange, dried cranberries  Served with dressing and assorted breads

Chilled appetizer
Smoked salmon with wasabi cream cheese, quinoa salad, pickled ginger, radish

  Seared beef ribs
  Lemon grass chicken
  Roasted halibut
  Butternut squash and apple ravioli
  Seasonal salad with grilled chicken

Lemon grass chicken Green curry sauce, jasmine rice, mixed vegetables

  1. obaKoba-sann,

At the present, you are at the movable barrier at entrance Z20 in FRA, preparing for the UA59 getting-on begins.
Present-day’s safety agent is from Sacrament, thus he wouldn’t inquire any security investigations, only talking with you, because he makes declaration that he feels a loss of Sacrament caused by your stresses or pitches in pronunciation.
You are so-called “a happy camper” as you are successfully identified as Californian, right ?

BTW, a lot of Japanese people are now taking paid time off during the “Golden Week”.
Some business associations are entirely shut and allow their employees to have time off. In spite of inevitably greater fee charged for transportations and accommodations, they are frequently and completely reserved.

    Sigh...

    1. Best Denki sensei,

Due to your *sigh*, I guess you are on duty… I’m sorry to hear that but you chose your obligation of helping people’s lives, and it’s a wonderful thing to your community.

What I was surprised was the comparison of the security agents at Z-gates in FRA, with the officers at the security check points for entering to air side. Both Z and B gates securities are filled up with nasty lazy Deutsche officers, about a third of them aren’t working but just chatting to kill times. Because the gate security requires fluent English skills, they are better educated hence their salary must be much better than those minimum wage workers in front of those X-ray scanners. :P
Then, secondary, I was surprised the officer from Sacrament misrecognised me as a 3rd or 4th Japanese American. I didn’t think I have Californian accents since I learned my colloquial English in Richmond, Surrey (or Greater London). I was a bit shocked I’ve been adjusted as a Californian. I didn’t think I was contaminated but I thought my English was more likely under international accent…

Because of the Golden Week in Japan, I’m in a deep trouble right now. Yesterday I have applied for TTP, not TPP but TTP, Japan Trusted Traveler Program (sounds incorrect English somehow, but this is the actual title by MoJ… definitely they are not MoFA) thru online. Then I forgot to attach one essential document because the online application wizard didn’t ask it, I believe, and then I lately found one required document was missing… I tried to modify my application but it wasn’t allowed, so I had to withdraw it and start over. When I restart the new application, the online process denied my new application because the previous withdrawal is under processing… now it’s a “chicken or egg” situation!
After all, I don’t think I can make my 2nd stage interview on my next Narita visit because of this crazy long weekend..

So, I am with you, sensei. I do hate Golden Week!
Instead, we will have nice time after this weekend, won’t we? ;)
