Tokyo 2019 Feb. (3)

  1. obaKoba-sann,

At first, I’m very sad to hear you say you’ll be suspending the blog for a while, though I’m quite sure each article doesn’t contain any dull nor repetitious information.
You know I studied English just for entrance exam and I’ve never lived abroad before, hence I’ve led a whole life in Japan so far without giving or exchanging information or ideas to/from actual English speakers.
I can’t judge my English ability objectively but I know it’s not good enough considering that I do have a medical license which the Japan Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare recognized along with being over 60 with bachelor’s diploma.
And I also know my English is uninteresting and dull for you since it’s bumping all of humorous and cynic nuances off, as a result entirety of my English goes too boring.
It’s no wonder I only work with universal(?) English pertaining to medical knowledges, because I need not to live in genuine in existence of English speaking situation all the time with much gags and humorous statements.

What I mean to say is not for being deprived of my lucky chance to use English but for being dispossessed of the valuable chance to enjoy your real and actual English.

Sorry for being off the content of the article.

    1. Yamada Denki sensei,

As per my better half read and judged, your English ability is superb. If I try to point out something further, your English is too good for average people who didn’t receive good education. Means, your expressions are covered by wider vocabularies, less using idioms. Colloquial English is very idiomatic with using less varietal words so that less educated idiots, including me, can understand it. Therefore, if possible, please try learning the difference between written and verbal English. In United States, vast majority of citizens are speaking 英検三級 level of English (with American accents).

And the most important part I would like to point out is; I’m not a fluent English speaker! I was the worst amongst my cousins – one graduated Keio and the other one went Sophia, I was so inferior to those cousins during my high school era… that were the darkest period for my life. Since then, I chose easy-going way, i.e. I went T-Gakuen (Deviation V.=~45) from Kisarazu High (Deviation V.=70) then graduated from photographic institute summa cum laude. But my English remains horrific quality. (lol)
