İstanbul 2018 Mar (7)

  1. obaKoba-sann,

Though I know Mr. Ado, your personal driver, isn’t exceedingly eloquent in English, you are absolutely happy to have found out such a friendly car driver.
Employees of Karaköy Rooms/Lokantası must be inevitably more excellent.

I still remember that Mr. Ado is acquainted with the clerks of Karaköy Rooms and his taxi base is close to the hotel, so you need not feel remorseful to request him to take you up and drop you off at the hotel.
Truly, in your past stay in Istanbul, you repeatedly asked him to return directly to the taxi depot since it wasn’t considerably difficult for him and you too were able to drop in a gazebo for buying liquid refreshments, etc.

    1. Best Denki sensei,

Ado is a very good friend and shofar to me. I really appreciate it, but he has a severe PAD problems because of his DM... Last time, he confessed me he would have an amputation after serving me, so when I leave at Ataturk airport, I handed over all of my Turkish banknotes to him and that was the only thing I could do at that immediate moment...
I contacted by Whatapp to receive an update from him, but no reply. I guess he is in Ismir with his brothers’ family and healing from the operation, I hope.

Ado’s English is not so fluent, but friendship can be created without language sometimes. He has a warm heart.

On the other side, the staffs at Karakoy Rooms are very fluent, and the servicepersons at Locantasi is sufficient too. I think the difference is the generation. Younger Turkish received English classes more frequently rather than the old guys like us. Japan has similar situation, I think. There is JET program which sends an English speaker to the high school, therefore the younger Japanese have much better chance to be fluent English speakers. If young dudes can’t speak English well, then such boys and girls are not well talented unfortunately, or just hate the classes.

Back to Ado, I will be able to reunite with him in late August, I hope. Then I will hug and cuddle him. Nothing beyond that would happen since both of us are under DM. (LOL)
