昨年あたりから，十数年前に受け取っていたパッケージに近いものになりました。
暫くの間は毎年「もうこれ以上切り詰められません！」というほどペナペナな封筒が届いていたのですが，いちおうボックスに戻ったので少し嬉しい。やっぱりコンチネンタル航空との合併で，UNITED はその名前だけを残して事実上はコンチネンタル航空になってしまったと考えるのが妥当だと思えます。
さて，箱を開けるとこうなっていました。
昨年とほぼ同じ。カバーレターには心臓疾患から立ち直って復帰してくれたCEOのミュノスちんのサインが。
このごろミュノスちんはすっかり元気になったようで，機内安全ビデオにチラッと出演していますよね。
2000年の8月ごろに1Kになりましたが，9/11同時多発テロや経済状況悪化等の影響で1K達成を1年お休みしていますので，1Kの会員証をこれで18年受け取ったことになります。ちょうどグレゴリオ暦とマッチングするので憶え易いですが。
パッケージを拡げると... こうなっています。
右手の寝てるおっさんの写真... ポラリスPJを着てちゃんとかけ布団の上からシートベルト装着してるのがワロタ！(笑)
2ミリオンマイラーですから，ミリオンマイラー特典で配偶者か Significant Other へ同等の待遇を与えられますので，当然ながら家人の1K®カードも同梱されていました。家人へは会員証と荷物タグひとつを渡し，ドリンククーポンは僕が総取りします♪ 僕の方が国際線エコノミーで修行する立場ですからね。(笑)
2017年の Premier 1K® Kit がまだころがっていたので，ちょっと比較してみます。
外観はまるっきり同じ。年号だけ2018年に替わっています。
でも，僕的には中身がちょっち良くなったと思います。
2017年度は就航先のガイドブックが入っていましたが，2018年のものはコースターが...。
取り出して比較しました。
あんまり便利とは思えなかった就航先のガイドブックよりは実用性がありそうです。
なんにせよ，コンチネンタル航空との合併で MileagePlus® はわずかながら復活の兆しが見えています。その一方で United Polaris™ は既に劣化が始まっているし...。もう今年も累積で2.5ミリオンマイルの予約を入れる計画なので，ここまできたら張り切って生涯 Premier 1K® になる３ミリオンマイラーを目指します。
･･･で，その先の4MM＝生涯GSは「残りの『生涯』が少なすぎ！」で無理っぽいから，もういいや。(爆)

Is the actual mental analysis to exert yourself against million miler rank a life-span of best benefits ?
Indeed in the way that a basis million miler who has acquired afterwards gaining a million lifetime miles, UA supporters achieve Gold rank for life, right ?
I hear AA and DL, however, need two million miles for Platinum on AA and Gold on DL ( both of them are supposed to correspond to Gold on UA ).
Nevertheless, associate aviation seems to collect lifetime deferred payment arrangements with AA and DL, even though it doesn’t earn with UA.
To me UA’s Gold might be completely important for frequent flyers.
In addition, if I earned two, three or four million lifetime miles, I’d become eventually with many more advantages by way of the Platinum, 1K and GS levels, accordingly.
What a long and winding road to end up with high tier !?

Simultaneously, pursuing the higher lifetime status is a very good excuse to fly over Istanbul, Singapore, Barcelona, etc. my favorite cities and have fun.
Also, there are so many benefits after achieving a million mile flyer. For example, I’m lifetime Star Alliance Gold member hence I can enter their lounges, one extra free check-in bags, etc. and because of lifetime MileagePlus Premier Platinum, I’m eligible for lifetime Group-1 boarding priority due to the current rule. Well… sometimes I can preboard because I have uniformed service ID as well, but priority boarding is important to secure the overhead bin space for my bag(s).
In regards to the comparison of million miler programs, did you know All Nippon also has similar program? I saw their million miler status tags at ANA Suite Lounge in NRT. Why don’t you try it, it will feel good. Again, I always talk to you, Life is a Game! ;)
